Last week, I had the privilege of being invited to meet Li Keqiang (Premier of China), along with Tim Cook (CEO of Apple), Jack Ma (CEO of Alibaba), Pony Ma (CEO of Tencent) and other top business leaders.
It was fascinating to hear how each of the major global players approached Premier Li and asked for specific changes in China’s policy, ranging from education to business regulations.
At the end, Premier Li announced a series of changes, the biggest one for us is that China is going to make it easier for foreign companies to register in China and do business. This is a major change that will affect everything from Apple to startups in our program.
It’s really good news for Founders Space, since we are expanding into China right now and will be bringing startups from all over the world into this market of 1.2 billion people.
I also had the pleasure of talking to Mao Daqing, Deng Feng and Li Kai-Fu: three of China’s most brilliant investors.
