Anton Zriashchev, CEO of inHome (Russia)

AntonFirst of all, Steve Hoffman is awesome guy. Very positive, well connected and highly experienced in all spheres of what any startup should know. It was pleasure to meet him first time at an FS event and pitch sessions later on. The place is good: quiet, there is a lot of room and free wi-fi is available.

The one month program was very short but very powerful according to program structure, sessions, master classes and meetings. Two main coaches, Steve Austin and Scott Gray, day-by-day taught us the key points: product market fit, pitch structure, presentation deck and presentation style, customer development issues, marketing and budgeting. A lot of valuable feedback regarding your startup. Sometimes Scott and Steve provided opposite advise, but you are a founder, you should make the final decision according to all information around you.

One more thing is online video content, which is available only for FS participants. It has a ton of valuable information, which is available 24/7. It’s a bible for founders, showing you how to avoid mistakes when you move forward step-by-step and build multi million dollar company. Read More...

Orville Easterly, CEO of Medical Datasoft International (Sacramento)

OvervilleThe leadership of Medical Datasoft International (MDI) entered Founders Space Bootcamp as we were taking the next step in the launch of our computer-patient interview software www.MDInterview.com. We knew what we had but were not skilled in presenting it to investors.

Founders Space taught us to make our pitch in 90 seconds or less and to create a pitch deck which visually illustrated the value and use of our software. Nothing felt natural. It was like learning to swing a golf club. But Scott Grey and Steve Austin, master teachers, rose to the challenge and instructed, challenged and inspired us to rethink our pitch and present it succinctly.

Scott Grey recognized that my co-founder and I needed someone on two attention in order to learn to say more in less time and coached us in redoing our pitch deck and reframing our headline. Both of which improved our presentation and our ability to hold the interest of investors. Read More...

Usha Kizhakekara, CEO of Wanteet (Fremont)

UshaFounders Space has a great program for founders and a lovely space in the middle of SOMA. It was awesome to work in the same building where companies like Instagram etc took off.

Their videos were very instructive. Steve Hoffman is an inspiring mentor, who makes himself available to everyone during the course. Murray threw light on the marketing and advertising aspects. There were some inspiring speakers who came by and pumped us up every once in a while, some thing founders need on this hard journey. I really appreciated Steve Austin’s candid feedback throughout the program.

The ongoing mentoring sessions at Townsend are cool, and the event at the end of the program gave startups an opportunity to present and get some great feedback. Their little setup in the basement is so homey. I wish I was closer and could spend more time there. Read More...

Nick Maxwell, CTO & Cofounder of Sportslab (San Francisco)

Nick MaxwellI joined Founder’s Space at the start of September 2014 as a Founder of SportsLab Inc.

On my first day, I took the BART into San Francisco from the East Bay and made the walk down to the excellent location in SOMA, the heart of the San Francisco startup scene. On my walk in SOMA, I bumped into a long-time friend and fellow entrepreneur that I hadn’t seen in a while. It is too easy to run into entrepreneurs here!

The first instructor that I met was Steve Austin. I could tell after listening to Steve for a few minutes that he was a seasoned Silicon Valley veteran. Steve had a No BS attitude, and I loved hearing about his successes and failures. In a later session, Steve mentioned that many of the MBA professors that have a doctorate in entrepreneurship have not been out in the field of battle. I wholeheartedly agree with Steve on this and believe that his mentorship has been invaluable. Read More...

Nadine Rose Carole, CEO of Galley (San Francisco)

NadineI was part of the first one-month long boot camp accelerator at Founder’s Space. I was new to San Francisco and had little start-up experience. I came in asking basic questions and seeking general resources.

That first session, Steve Hoffman, the head of Founders Space, taught many of the classes. He also shared with us daily program videos and content. Having Steve share his expertise got me caught up on tech speak and startup philosophy very quickly. Founders Space allowed me to see a clear path for my startup.

Founding a company in Silicon Valley is more than just starting a business. It involves an approach to your idea that involves quick growth, lean strategies and scaling your product. Captain Hoff’s feedback helped our team be adequately prepared for the startup world. Read More...

Stephen OLearyWe took the online Founders Space course, as a UK startup it helped us to get a good feeling of what would be required of reduce my invoice to scale and raise funds in San Francisco.

Although not all of the online video felt relevant at the first time of watching, now that we are starting to grow rapidly, we have started to revisit them.

Akshay Arabolu, CEO of LoveMeButter (USA)

AkshayWe were part of the October 2014 Founders Space cohort. This is a great program that gives you an understanding of all the components that go into building a successful startup.

During the course of the accelerator, there are talks by successful founders who advise on you what you need to do to move your business forward. These talks range from legal, marketing, operations, business development, fund-raising, etc.

If there is a topic that isn’t covered that you need help in, you can always talk to Steve Hoffman (Managing Director of FounderSpace) about it, as he’s very accessible. This is invaluable especially if you are a first-time entrepreneur or are building a startup in an industry you are unfamiliar with. Read More...

Frank Nguyen, CEO of PopMyDeal (San Francisco)

FrankI’ve worked for start-ups throughout my career and founded two of my own. However, I still decided to join The Founders Space accelerator program las October.

Being a start-up in 2014 is quite different from a startup a few years earlier. The market is changing so fast. It is as fast as the technology, the ideas, the new ventures, the competitive landscape, and last, but not least, the investment. The Founders Space helped us to catch up with the latests.

We’ve learned invaluable lessons of self-assessment on our business model, market positioning, and therefore, made ourselves clear on directions and focus. Read More...

Shalabh Sharma, CEO of SRACY (India)

I was extremely excited when I saw my acceptance to the FS program, this was my first program in Silicon Valley. I was really not expecting to be a part of such a great fraternity.

From the first day to the last, all the online videos were crafted beautifully, the instructors Scott Grey and Steve Austin are great and touches upon the quarks required to build a great startup and eventually solves various equations for Startups like mine which are thousands of miles away waiting for a chance.

Content, insights, keys and tools by which we can strengthen the organizational structure, as well as economics and other array of problems of startups and FS touched upon all. For revisions FS provided various tools viz. pitching, business plan to marketing plan, everything was complete which eases the Startup and make them able to focus on their product, rather than worrying about the other side of the coin.
